Rachael works as a Graduate Fellow within the DC Department of Health. Her work involves ensuring the operationalization of equity in the District’s Maternal and Child Health programs and identifying areas of improvement for the District. Rachael obtained her B.A. in both Global & International Studies and Women's & Gender Studies, with Minors in Epidemiology & Global Public Health and Environment & Health from Michigan State University. She is currently pursuing a Master in Public Health (MPH) degree at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, concentrating in Maternal and Child Health and Humanitarian Health. Rachael’s personal journey as a deaf individual wearing bilateral hearing aids has profoundly shaped her perspective and ignited a passion for advocating for marginalized communities and ensuring that every voice is heard in public health. In her post-graduate career, she hopes to reshape the landscape of public health, recognizing that diversity and inclusivity are fundamental aspects of research and policy.
