Kendal Furman is a Senior at the George Washington University studying International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health. She is a Presidential Scholar, International Women of Elliott Fellowship Awardee, five-time Dean’s List recipient, and a proud French enthusiast. During her time at GW, she has been able to explore her passion for the intersection of global health, human rights, and gender inequality concerns–focusing her efforts on period poverty research, response, and awareness. Outside of the classroom, Kendal enjoys her roles as a Writer and Assistant Editor-in-Chief for The GW Local and as a Campaigns Co-Director for GW Globemed. Additionally, Kendal recently interned for a Kampala-based nonprofit called Set Her Free, working to continue strengthening its valuable partnership with GW Globemed in addition to supporting the organization’s mission of promoting health and self-sufficiency among young mothers and those who have experienced sexual gender-based violence.
