Daphne Pee

Ed.D Candidate, Human and Organizational Learning

Daphne Pee has nearly 20 years of experience working in the environmental field, particularly addressing water quality and climate change in the Chesapeake Bay region. Her focus on community education and outreach led to a shift in 2019. After years of experiencing and watching other programs struggle to engage audiences and facilitate behavior change, she realized that scientists may know a lot about the environment, but we struggle to understand people, especially people of color, immigrants, and socio-economically disadvantaged families. She is now a doctoral student in the School of Education and Human Development's Human and Organizational Learning program, where she is beginning to develop her research on community-based leaders with intersectional and marginalized identities who engage communities of color on socio-ecologically complex issues.
